UP woman brutally assaulted by husband in presence of family, dies

There seems to be no end to crimes especially when it comes to women in the country. In a horrifying incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, a woman was brutally assaulted by her husband in the presence of family members.

The disconcerting clip of the woman's brutal thrashing has gone viral on social media. The incident occurred some days ago, said police.

The woman was again allegedly beaten up by her husband on Sunday and she later succumbed to her injuries. The woman's husband and other family members are still at large following the gut-wrenching incident.

In the video clip of the assault, the woman could be seen in a disoriented mental state and calling out for her mother. The blood could also be seen coming out of the victim’s mouth as a consequence of the assault, as per a report in NDTV.

In another video of the incident, the victim could be seen lying on a cot with her mouth frothing. In another clip, a hand pours water in the woman’s mouth saying, 'don't beat her so badly'.

The victim's sister has put out the purported video clips to the media. It is still unknown who shot these videos.

As maintained by Bulandshahr Police, the first assault happened at the house of the victim's relative some days ago. Police claimed the woman again went on to live with the man ahead of her murder on Sunday.

However, cops haven’t told when the assault on the woman happened and didn't make clear as to why the family members did not intervene if the assault took place at the house of one of her relatives.

According to the police, the key accused in the case has been identified as Hashim, who is the husband of the victim. On the basis of a complaint from the victim's father, the cops have registered a case of dowry harassment and murder.
