UP: Teen beaten to death by friends after dispute, body burnt using chemicals
In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, a 16-year-old boy was brutally murdered by his friend after an argument.
The teen was first stoned to death and later his dead body was burnt by the accused. In the meantime, two accused have been taken into custody by the police.
The incident happened in Meerut’s Kotwali area. Circle Officer Arvind Chaurasia said the boy's burnt body was found in a plot outside Dharmshala Banarsi Ashram in Budhana Gate area, as per a report in Hindi daily Hindustan.
Police have sent the body for autopsy. The city SP Akhilesh Narayan Singh also visited the crime spot.
The matter became known after the local residents saw a stray dogs dragging the body. Many blood-stained bricks were also found nearby.
At first, the victim could not be identified because much of his body was burnt. Police looked into CCTV footage from nearby areas and identified and arrested two suspects in connection with the murder.
According to the Police, the two accused confessed to killing the boy. Later, the victim was identified as 16-year-old Ashraf. The two accused have been identified as Bilal and Shantanu.
The accused told that the three were drug addicts. They had a fight on Friday night while consuming drugs, police said.
The two accused dragged the victim to a plot and hit him with bricks on the head killing him on the spot. They also burnt the body with chemicals to destroy the evidence.
