UP shocker: Minor girl gang-raped, accused record and upload criminal act on social media

There seems to be no end to crimes especially when it comes to women in Uttar Pradesh. In a new development reported from Muzaffarnagar district, a minor girl was gang-raped by two men after they lured her to an orchard on some ostensible reason.

The accused also recorded a video of the ghastly act and made it viral on the internet. Later, the minor victim ran away from her house in fear of being humiliated.

Police have now tracked down the victim and intiated action against the accused. The unfortunate episode occurred in Muzaffarnagar’s Bhopa area, as per a report in Amar Ujala.

The woman has registered a police complaint suggesting her 17-year-old daughter was taken away by a local resident, named Shubham on some pretext. Later, he alllegedly gang-raped the girl along with his other friend Ashish.

The accused also threatened to kill the girl if she told about the crime to anyone. The two men then recorded a video of the criminal act and deserted the minor. The family of the victim learnt about the crime after the accused uploaded the obscene clip on social media.

When the family asked the girl about the incident, she ran away from home on Saturday. The family right away approached the police and lodged an FIR mentioning Ashish and Shubham.

The police traced the victim outside the village and sent her for medical analysis. The police have been conducting raids in order to locate and nab the accused.

"Two men have raped a girl and made a video clip of the criminal act. Following the crime the girl became disturbed and went away from the house," said Girija Shankar Tripathi, Circle Officer.
