UP: Minor boy kills friend who threatened to tell his parents about his smoking habit
In an appalling incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, an under-aged boy allegedly beat up his 13-year-old friend and then cut his both wrists with a blade, killing him. According to reports, the boy carried out the crime because he was scared that the victim might tell his family about his smoking habits.
The victim, identified as Saurabh, lived in a slum in Lucknow’s Gudamba area. Saurabh used to sell vegetables. He left his home on Friday to buy vegetables but did not come back. His family then started looking for him. Later, the family approached the local cops, asking them to find the missing teenager.
The police straight away got into action and looked into the area’s CCTV cameras in order to locate the teenager. In the footage, the boy was seen walking with a friend. The police then nabbed the teen’s friend who later confessed to the crime.
“He (accused) told the police that he and Saurabh reached a vacant plot after leaving the house for the market. Saurabh started playing games on mobile phone of the accused while the accused started smoking cigarettes. After some time, they picked a fight, and Saurabh said that he would tell his parents about his habit of smoking,” a report published by The Times of India stated.
On hearing this, the accused in a fit of rage brutally beat up Saurabh who lost consciousness. The accused then went to a nearby shop to buy a blade. He came back to the spot and cut Saurabh’s both writs. The accused, before running away, dumped the victim’s dead body under debris in the area.
