UP: Man strangles eight months pregnant wife, daughter after family dispute
In an appalling incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district, a man allegedly murdered his eight months pregnant spouse and daughter following a family discord.
The horrific episode took place in Gayatripuram Mohalla on Sunday. The accused identified as Gulfam asphyxiated his wife and five-year-old daughter.
According to a report in Hindi daily Hindustan, the following day, the accused went to the police station and admitted to the crime he had committed.
Police have sent the body for autopsy. In the meantime, the father of the deceased woman has accused his son-in-law, his brother and his father of killing his daughter.
Police took the accused (Gulfam) to his house and recovered the two bodies. He was stright away taken into custody.
After the information, senior police officials including ASP Manish Mishra, CO Mangal Singh Rawat arrived at the crime spot and sent the bodies for autopsy.
"The couple had a fight during dinner on Sunday night. After this, the accused killed his wife and daughter. We have arrested the accused and filed a case. We are probing the matter further," said Mangal Singh Rawat, CO, Khekra.
Following the murder, the accused sat with the dead bodies for about eight hours. The accused was prevously jilted by his first two wives.
The accused is said to be suffering from cancer. As stated by the family of the accused, Gulfam's first wife left him after she came to know about his illness.
He then got married for a second time and had a daughter. His second also abandoned him and left her daughter with him. He again got married for the third time during the period coronavirus lockdown.
