UP Horror: 14-year-old girl allegedly abducted, gang-raped by five men

In an extremely shocking incident for crime reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by five men.

The incident occurred on Sunday when the minor Dalit girl was asleep in the verandah of her house, TOI quoted her family members as saying.

The victim’s father, in his complaint, stated his daughter was sleeping when the five men entered their house and stuffed a piece of cloth in her mouth and took her away.

He said the men took her to a shop owned by one of the accused and raped her there. They later dropped the minor girl near their house.

"The five youths entered the house and abducted my daughter. They stuffed her mouth with cloth and took her to some shop owned by one of them where they raped her. They left her in an unconscious state near my house. After regaining consciousness, she narrated everything," the victim’s father said in his complaint.

The five accused have been booked, police said. One accused has been taken into custody for questioning.

An FIR has been filed against the five men under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code for gang-rape, house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful assault and also "under provisions of SC/ST Act and POCSO Act", police said.

According to police, an alert has been issued in the area to curb any possible communal violence because of the incident.

In the meantime, Superindent of Police, Ankit Kumar, said medical examination of the victim did not connfirm sexual assault. He said the girl's statement would be recorded before a magistrate.

According to SP Ankit Kumar, preliminary investigation showed the girl was in contact with one of the accused, who has now been held. One of the other accused named by the family in the case has been out of town for quite sometime, he said.

Furthermore the Rampur SP stated, "However, considering the seriousness of the case and the allegations being made, thorough investigation is being done."
