Two men use personal photos to blackmail, rape teenage girl for months

In an appalling incident brought into the open from Gujarat’s Halvad, two men allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl at frequent intervals. The horrifying act of crime became known when the girl narrated her ordeal to her parents who then approached the Halvad police and filed a complaint.

According to reports, the accused had been blackmailing the Class 12 student using her private photographs and videos. The accused threatened to post the inappropriate pictures and clips on social media.

The two accused, identified as Jayesh Kanjariya and Mehul Hadiyal - threatened to kill the victim girl's brother if she opposed their demands. Reportedly, Kanjariya first befriended the victim girl and began meeting her many a time. The accused and the survivor are natives of Halvad.

Stright away after Hadiyal befriended the victim girl and the three started meeting each other, The Times of India reported. In the time of these meetings, the accused allegedly took private photographs of the girl and later used them to blackmail her.

For the past couple of days, the victim had been upset and had stopped talking to her family. As her parents became worried, they asked the girl if something was bothering her. Later, the girl told her parents about the sexual assault that had been happening for a year.

Halvad police inspector, PA Dekivadiya said, "The family brought the girl to the police station and based on her statement we have booked the two men for rape and blackmail. The accused have not been taken into custody so far.
