This Time, Sawan to Have Five Mondays

Bhilwara: In a rare astronomical event, the month of Sawan will begin with five Mondays, a phenomenon that occurs once in 72 years. According to the Hindu calendar, the month of Sawan will start on July 22 and will last for 29 days, concluding on August 19.

This rare occurrence is considered highly auspicious, with multiple planetary alignments taking place, including Preeti Yog, Ayushman Yog, Navam Pancham Yog, Shash Raj Yog, and Sarvarth Siddhi Yog. These alignments are believed to bring good fortune and prosperity.

Sawan Somwar Dates

The five Mondays of Sawan will fall on July 22, July 29, August 5, August 12, and August 19. The first Monday will mark the beginning of the month, and devotees will throng Shiva temples to offer prayers and perform rituals.

Rudrabhishek at Gori Somnath Temple

At Gori Somnath Mahadev Temple, located behind the Krishi Upaj Mandi, daily Rudrabhishek will be performed during the month of Sawan. The temple trust has made elaborate arrangements for the rituals, which will be performed by Pandit Ashish Joshi and other learned priests.

Construction Work Begins at Sawariyaji Temple

The construction work of the Shikhar (spire) of Sawariyaji Temple, located on Ariyapati Road, has begun. The temple committee, led by Ward Councilor Mukesh Jain, has taken the initiative to renovate the temple, which will include the construction of a new Shikhar, China mosaic work, and the installation of steel railings.

Guru Purnima Celebrations

This year, Guru Purnima will be celebrated on July 21, a day that marks the birth anniversary of Maharishi Ved Vyas. The day is considered highly auspicious, with devotees offering prayers to their gurus and seeking their blessings. According to Hindu mythology, Guru Purnima is celebrated to pay tribute to the gurus who have guided humanity towards the path of spirituality.

This year, Guru Purnima will be celebrated with great fervour, with multiple planetary alignments taking place, including Sarvarth Siddhi Yog, Shravan Nakshatra, and Preeti Yog. These alignments are believed to bring good fortune and prosperity to those who offer prayers and seek the blessings of their gurus.

In Pratapgarh, devotees will celebrate Guru Purnima with great enthusiasm, with many temples and ashrams organizing special programs and rituals to mark the occasion.
