Tamil Nadu woman sexually assaults 17-year-old boy after marrying him
In a shocking incident reported from Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore district, a 19-year-old woman from Pollachi allegedly ran away together with a 17-year-old boy, tied the knot with him and then sexually assaulted him. After which a complaint by the boy’s mother, the woman in question gave herself up before the cops.
The accused woman was holding down a job at a petrol bunk in the town. The 17-year-old boy has cleared Class 12 examination. He frequently visited the woman’s work place. Around one year, the woman developed feelings for the boy. On Thursday, the teenage petrol bunk worker ran away with the boy to Palani, where she allegedly married him.
The subsequent day, the two came back to Coimbatore. They were living in a rented apartment in Semmedu. “During this time, the woman sexually assaulted the boy,” a report by The Times of India quoted a cop as saying.
The mother of the boy, in the meantime, approached the cops with her complaint against the woman. After coming to know about the complaint, the accused woman, along with the boy, came to the all-women police station and gave herself up to the police officials.
Later, the woman was arrested. She has been charged under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. She was produced in a court and sent to judicial custody.
This incident surfaced months after a woman was arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district for allegedly sexually assaulting an underaged boy.
What is even more appalling is that the woman’s husband and his family members came to know about the alleged crime, they tried to extort money from the teen boy’s family on the threat that they would falsely incriminate him for raping the woman if they refused to pay the sum, according to reports.
