Suspecting her 'character', man stabs wife to death
In an appalling incident of crime against women reported from Bengaluru, a 25-year-old man allegedly stabbed his wife to death as he suspected the character of his wife. The victim has been identified as Baby Ayesha, aged 20.
The horrific incident occurred in city’s Chandra Layout where the accused identified as Sayed Shakir perpetrated the crime and ran away from the crime spot.
The accused was taken into custody on Tuesday. Shakir was married to Ayesha for six years. The couple had two children and were living near Ayesha's parents' house. The couple's children were with their grandparents when the crime happened.
As maintained by police, the accused was an alcoholic and stopped going to work. Shakir was reliant on his in-laws for money.
Police said the accused suspected his wife's character and often thrashed her when he saw Ayesha speaking to men in the neighbourhood. Furthermore, the police said he indulged in an argument before stabbing his wife.
In a similar incident, a man allegedly murdered his wife, aged 35, by slitting her throat with a sword when she was asleep after he doubted the victim's fidelity. The incident was reported from Rajasthan’s Jodhpur.
The accused, identified as Bisnaram Bheel later surrendered to the local police. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused committed the crime as he doubted the victim’s fidelity.
The victim, identified as Neelam and her husband worked as daily wage labourers. For the past few days, Neelam had been living at her parents’ house in Jodhpur’s Soorsagar area. Bheel brought Neelam to his house in Piparli village. Police said Bheel used to doubt the character of Neelam. It is suspected that the issue might have led to an argument between the pair.
