Surat: After wife’s weight reduction therapy ‘fails’, man attacks doctor
Surat police is doing all they can to arrest a school teacher who allegedly attacked and looted a 32-year-old doctor near Shreeji Society.
According to police, the accused, identified as Manoj Dhudhagara, had paid Dr Ajay Moradiya in the past few months for his wife’s weight reduction therapy. Notwithstandin that the wife failed to lose weight on expected lines. Upset with this, Dhudhagara demanded refund. An argument broke out between the two when Moradiya refused to give the money back.
Dhudhagara, during the heated exchange, attacked the doctor with an iron blade. He then looted Rs 1,500 from the doctor’s wallet and ran away. An ambulance was called to the spot and Moradiya was shifted to a hospital for medical attention as he sustained serious throat injuries in the incident, according to The Times of India.
Later, police were notified about the matter and a case was filed against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC. A search is on to nab Dhudhagara, police said.
In another incident, a 27-year-old female employee of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) was allegedly thrashed by three women when she asked one of them to put on a mask.
The victim, a contractual BMC worker, was on a drive along with her team in Motibai Wadi locality near Bhandup railway station to penalise those not wearing face masks, said police.
