Shocking! Railway’s AC coach attendant penalized for serving toilet water to passengers

Railways food quality and services are always a matter of concern for passengers. Several videos have been revealed which showed an unhygienic environment of kitchens of Railway which left passengers shocked. Now, a new addition to the list is water served by AC coach attendant.

A 30-year-old attendant of the AC coach served impure water from the lavatory of the coach of the passengers on board on the Tirunelveli-Jamnagar Express.

After this incident came to light, he has been sentenced to 10 days of simple imprisonment and penalty of Rs 1,500 imposed on him by Ratnagiri judicial magistrate on charges of supplying impure water.

The Railway Police Force (RPF) has launched a massive operation to prevent impure water supply in the trains.

The attendant has been identified as Ravindra Vyas hailed from Rajkot and has been serving as a contract worker. After he was nabbed by the authorities, a case was registered against him on the charges of illegal sale of an article under the Indian Railway Act’s Section 144(1).

According to the reports of TOI, Girish Karandikar, spokesman of Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) said that the central traffic control room informed the RPF authorities of Ratnagiri about the illegal sale of drinking water packet on the Tirunelveli-Jamnagar Express with the number19577.

B3, a three-tier AC coach on the train, was inspected at Ratnagiri station and a passenger complaint about the impure water served in the coach.

Reportedly, Vyas sold unsealed packaged drinking water bottles to the passengers in Tirunelveli-Jamnagar Express.

One of the passengers got to know about the unsealed water bottles. He immediately approached the authorities and registered a complaint about the matter, following which Vyas was held by RPF.
