Shocker: Man throws three-month-old baby girl into fire
In a horrifying incident, a man in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district on Sunday threw the three-month-old baby girl into fire.
The baby has received severe burn injuries in her legs and she is now being treated at the Sadar Hospital, Bihar, police said.

Man tried to sexually harass woman:
When the woman was sitting near a bonfire, the accused sat beside her and tried to sexually harass her, against which she protested.

This enraged the man and he snatched the baby from the woman’s lap and threw her into the fire. The baby suffered from serious burn injuries, the police said.
Meanwhile, the FIR has been lodged against the man, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Baidyanath Singh.
He has been booked under IPC sections 307 (murder attempt), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), the officer said.
The further investigation is underway, they said.
The victim woman’s husband alleged that the local police station didn’t lodge an FIR at first, following which he approached Senior Superintendent of Police Jayant Kant.
Later, police started an investigation on the SSP’s intervention.
