RIP Raju Srivastava: PM Modi calls his demise 'saddening'; Bollywood bereaved
Comedian-actor Raju Srivastava who was admitted to AIIMS Delhi following cardiac arrest has passed away. He was only 58.
Srivastava was admitted to AIIMS Delhi following a major heart attack on August 10. The comedian experienced pain and collapsed while working out at a gym. For more than 40 days, he was admitted to AIIMS and was on a ventilator.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi penned a heartfelt tribute to the standup comedian. Sharing a photograph with Srivastava, PM Modi tweeted, “Raju Srivastava brightened our lives with laughter, humour, and positivity. He leaves us too soon but he will continue to live in the hearts of countless people thanks to his rich work over the years. His demise is saddening. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also remembered the great comedian. He wrote, "Recognized comedian Raju Srivastava ji had a unique style, he impressed everyone with his amazing talent. His death is a great loss to the art world. I express my condolences to his family and fans. May God give them the strength to bear this grief. peace peace.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered his condolences to Raju’s family after his demise. “Raju Srivastava is no more with us. I, on behalf of the people of UP, pray that his soul rests in peace. I extend my condolences to his family,” he said as quoted by ANI.
Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari said that he is ‘anguished to hear about he demise.”
