Rajasthan: Minor girl gangraped after father forces her into prostitution

In a horrifying incident reported from Rajasthan’s Jodhpur, a minor was allegedly gangraped by four men after her father and stepmother pushed her into prostitution.

As maintained by police, the victim’s father, a full-blown alcoholic, often sent his daughter to parties and social gathering along with Langa Manganiyar (local folk singers) for the last seven months, where some would take her for a dance and sexually harass her.

In one of these parties this year on the occasion of Holi, the minor victim was gang-raped by four people and got her pregnant, police said.

When the girl declined to go to these parties, her intoxicated father would thrash and threaten her not to tell anyone about the crime.

After throwing the mother of the victim out of the house, the accused father forced the victim into prostitution, for which he would get anywhere around Rs 5,000 and Rs 8,000.

The victim was also not allowed to meet her sister and mother for the last 5-6 years, police said.

The accused father told the minor girl on 21st June that she would have to go back to the hotels for another two days and even threatened to take her life if she did not obey his instruction.

The minor victim gave an account of the incident to her elder sister and later ran way to her maternal grandmother in Kelava Kala. Following this, the victim's father started threatening her by sending others to bring her back.

According to the minor victim, she was impregnated after she was gangraped, but remained silent for many days fearing her father. When she told her stepmother about the horrible incident, the latter asked her to consume poison and threatened to sell her.

In the meantime, Mathania police have started a probe in the case and assigned it to Mandore ACP Rajendra Diwakar.
