Rajasthan horror: Husband along with relatives gangrape woman

In yet another incident of crime against women reported from Rajasthan's Bharatpur, a man allegedly gangraped his wife along with his relatives after her family refused to give dowry.

The man also recorded a video of the act and threatened to upload it on YouTube to earn the dowry money. The victim alleged that the investigating police officer took bribe from the accused and didn’t take any action against them.

The incident took place in an area which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kaman police station where the victim had lodged a case against her husband and two others on 29th April.

As maintained in the case file, when her husband did not get the dowry money (Rs 1.5 lakh), he gangraped his wife along with two of his relatives. He recorded the entire act and told her, “I will upload this video on YouTube and earn my dowry money from it.”

The accused, a native of Haryana’s Punhana, tied the knot with the victim in May 2019. He and his family had been harassing her for dowry since the wedding. Unhappy with the harassment, she had returned to her maternal home but was soon brought back by the accused. Then, he called two of his relatives and raped her.

Furthermore, the victim said, “My husband threatened me that if i did not pay the dowry he would upload the obscene video on YouTube and earn money from there.” She also added that even though she had lodged a complaint with the Kaman police station, no action has been taken. The woman accused an officer of taking bribes from the accused. “Although I had registered a case, the investigating officer, Pradeep Yadav, took bribes from the accused and let them go,” she said.

The woman has now approached the Superintendent of Police of Bharatpur district, Daulat Sahu, he said, “A woman has filed a case against her husband and two others alleging rape and harassment. We are investigating the matter.”
