Punjab: Ludhiana woman hit by car, abused by passengers
Ludhiana: The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police have arrested three individuals for injuring a woman with a speeding car and using derogatory language towards her. The incident occurred on the victim's way to attend the inauguration of a Mohalla Clinic.
Details of the Incident
The victim, Gagan, reported in her complaint that a car driven recklessly hit her, resulting in an injury to her right hand and the breaking of her phone. The passengers, identified as Bhawna Kumari and Mrityunjay Kumar, deboarded the vehicle and clashed with her. They also used derogatory language against her caste.
Arrest of the Accused
The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police identified the driver of the car as Parminder Singh and arrested him along with the other two passengers. The accused have been taken into custody for their involvement in the incident.
Action Taken
The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police have registered an FIR under sections 279, 337, and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 3 and 4 of the SC and ST Act at Police Station Division no 3 Central Subdivision Ludhiana.
