Pune: Aspiring actress gang-raped during TV show audition; woman, two others booked
A shocking news was reported from Pune where a 28-year-old aspiring actress was gang-raped by two men on the pretext of offering a role in the TV show. The incident came to light when the woman approached the Pune Police to file the complaint against 3 persons including a woman and 2 men.
According to her statement, on 9th February the victim was allegedly called to a hotel in Vimannagar to give an audition for a TV show. A female named Chhaya approached the victim to help her get a role in the popular TV show and asked her to come to Pune to the show’s director and producer for the audition.
She further added that to meet them she travelled to Pune in a taxi and when she reached the hotel they took her to room number 402 around midnight. When she entered the room they asked her for a sexual favour in return of role, however, she refused tried to leave.
As soon as she moved towards the door Chhaya hit her with a beer bottle. The 2 men then raped her and fled from the spot.
The police have booked all the three accused under Section 376 (Gang Rape), 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 34 (Common intention) of the IPC on Saturday.
