Pregnant woman murdered in front of her six-year-old daughter

In a horrifying incident of crime reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, a 26-year-old pregnant woman was killed in front of her six-year-old daughter at their residence in the Subhashnagar area. Following the murder, the kid remained by her mother's dead body for the whole night in an empty house.

According to sources, the accused, identified as Akash Kumar, the victim's brother-in-law, had gotten into an argument with her. In a fit of anger, he used a grinding stone to crush her head with her daughter present at the scene on Sunday.

Since victim’s husband was out of the station and her mother-in-law, a nurse was on night shift, the victim, identified as Vineeta was home alone with her daughter.

The ruthless murder became known on Monday, when the victim’s mother-in-law came back home from work and found her dead body.

The mother-in-law right away reported the killing to the police, and they gathered information on the culprit after having a conversation with the child.

According to Ravindra Kumar, SP, "The woman was allegedly killed by her brother-in-law and her daughter is a witness. An FIR has been registered in the case and the accused will soon be held. The reason for the murder is still unclear," as saying was quoted by The Times of India.

In another incident, a woman was shot dead by her husband who killed himself shortly after when she refused to go back home with him to Rampur. The couple were taken to a hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival. The couple had been married for a year.
