Mumbai: Students accuse school teacher of sexual assault, harassment; teacher threatens complainant

A shocking incident was reported from Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai where the ex and the current students (male and female) of the school have alleged of sexual assault and harassment against the male teacher. The incident came to light on Instagram private chats where students accused the teacher of sexually harassing several students in the last 5 years.

As per reports, the students accused the teacher of touching them inappropriately, passing comments on girl’s bra and their skirt. Not just girls he would also harass boys either by grabbing their genital or by spanking them. However, this behaviour is only towards the students and not in front of the other teachers.

After the row of Bois Locker Room two anonymous complainants, a girl and a boy sent an email to the school administration against the male teacher. As per the TimesNow report, the students have discussed their ordeal with each other, the chat read that the teacher would point towards the girl’s bra and chest and said that they have grown a lot.

Another student in the same chat wrote that on a rainy day he would come near to them and would comment on the colour of her bra. Not just this he would often grab students by their waist and would say he wants to talk to them in private. One of the male users also wrote that often the teacher would tug his underwear between the buttocks and would then comment on its colour.

As the complaint against the teacher started getting hike the accuse then tried to threaten the girl and said that he would complain about her as she has crossed all the limits. Further, he said that if they had a problem with them then why didn’t they complain then against him.

While talking to Mumbai Mirror the accused teacher said that several years ago he did comment on the girl’s bra by mistake. He said, “Just imagine that a girl soaked in the rain and she is wearing a pink or dark-coloured bra. It looks bad.” However, after he passed a comment on her he immediately apologised as he felt that he said something wrong.

Meanwhile, the school’s principal has acknowledged the complaints and have raised the issue to the sexual harassment committee. He said that a strict and proper investigation would be taken against the issue.
