Mumbai: Railway canteen employee slashes man with blade over Rs 2

In a shocking incident reported from Mumbai's Ambernath station. A 28-year-old visually-impaired man was allegedly attacked with a blade after an altercation over 'samosa pav'. The man allegedly argued with the accused after he charged him Rs 13 for a samosa pav that cost Rs 11. The incident happened at a railway canteen.

The man sustained injuries on his hand. The victim was identified as Dilip More. On the day of the crime. Dilip and his friend got off at platform number 2 of Ambernath station.

The two men went to the canteen and asked for samosa pav. The accused allegedly asked Dilip to pay Rs 13 for the pav. Dilip, however, claimed that the pav cost Rs 11. Upset over the it, the victim questioned the employee over the extra charge.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, following the argument, the accused allegedly attacked the victim with a blade on his right hand and another employee allegedly slapped him. After the incident, Dilip approached the GRP.

"We have registered a case under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the Indian Penal Code against Mangal Singh Khushwa, who works in the canteen", Shardul Walmiki, senior police inspector, GRP said.

The victim, who is an Arts graduate, is a native of Vangni. The man lives in the area with his wife and daughter. Unable to find a job, the man started begging on local trains.
