Minor girl raped at gunpoint by neighbour, accused still at large
In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Meetut district, a ten-year-old girl has been raped at gunpoint allegedly by a neighbour on Friday. Later, the accused ran away from the crime spot.
The horrific incident occurred at a residential area in Mawana town. The minor victim was at home all by herself when the accused violated the victim. The girl told about the incident to her parents after they got back home from work.
After that the victim’s parents went to the Mawana police station to register a complaint. Cops have now recorded the statement of the victim and informed about the incident to senior officials, according to a report in Hindi daily.
Police have started a man hunt to arrest the accused, but he has fled his home after locking it. On Sunday, the girl was sent for medical. The girl parents live in Rambagh Colony and work as daily wagers.
In his complaint, the victim’s father said, "We went out for work on Friday in the morning. A neighbour identified as Monu Gurjar, son of Rajbir Singh, entered the house after finding my two children alone at home. Monu then sent the victim's brother our on the pretext of buying something. He then raped the girl at gunpoint. He also threatened the girl's to kill her family if she revealed the crime to anyone."
As the parents of the girl came back home from work, they found the victim very disturbed. The parents then informed other relatives who reached the police station along with the rape victim.
According to police, they have filed a case under relevant sections on the bases of the complaint from the girl's parents.
In the meantime, Meerut SSP Prabhakar Chaudhary has ordered the arrest of the accused in the case. Mawana police station in-charge Jagbir Singh said raids are being carried out to arrest the accused.
