MBBS student goes missing: Odisha cops suspect links with Bangladesh Jehadi outfits

A 23-year-old medical student, Suhail Aijaz Kataria who hails from Kupwara district, North Kashmir was studying in AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Odisha has gone missing since February 9. Police suspect a link with Bangladesh Jehadi outfits from a letter found from his room with many suspicious words, he had written that 'I quit'.

It was only after Suhail's family had not heard from him for a long time that his father came down to Odisha and filed FIR of missing. On Monday, following the FIR, a team has left for Kolkata where his mobile location was last traced.

In a telephonic conversation with Suhail's father, Aijaz Ahmad Kataria, he said, “I received a call from Suhail on February 6, he was asking for some money. The very next day I transferred the amount and informed him. We had a conversation that night and the next day as well but since February 9 we haven't heard much from him.”

Initially the family thought it was classes and exams that it keeping him busy but days passed by and the young lad did not call his parents. Then after they decided to leave for Bhubaneswar sensing something wrong.

When Catch contacted a classmate of Suhail, he said, “He left the college on February 9 and said that he would return back by February 17.” He even added that he tried calling him on the numbers he had, but all the numbers were switched off.

To no more about the matter, Catch Team contacted the Director General of Police (DGP), Odisha, Rajendra Prasad Sharma, he said, "In the letter, he has asked his friend to forgive him as he had much more work to do in the world.”

According to Suhail's friend he was not in a perfect state of mind as he had failed in some subjects.
