Man ties wife with iron chains for 3 months; spine-chilling deets

In a shocking incident reported from Rajasthan, a man tied-up his wife with iron chain for about three months and tortured her as he suspected the woman of having an extra-marital relationship, Police said on Wednesday.

The man allegedly kept his wife tied with iron chains weighing 30 kg near their home in Rajasthan’ Pratapgarh district. The man has been taken into police custody and the woman has been set free, police said.

The incident happened in Lalgarh gram panchayat, which falls under the jurisdiction of Arnod police station area in Pratapgarh district.

According to Police, they got information that a woman had been tied with iron chains in the area. A police team went to the spot to check and discovered a woman tied with chains with two locks.

The 40-year-old victim, told police that her husband chained her around the time of Holi after the man accused her of being in an extra-marital relationship. Furthermore, the woman told police that she would often go to Heenglat in Rajasthan to help her mother in the fields.

“My husband would come to my mother’s place and beat me up in front of the family. I only wanted to take care of my ageing mother but my husband would get drunk and thrash me. He suspected that I was cheating on him,” the woman told police.

The woman alleged that two-three days ahead of the Holi, her husband and one of her sons along with other person of her family tied her using iron chains.

The women told the cops that her husband had kept her locked up for three months and continued to physically and mentally torment her.

The woman has requested the police to take strict action against those accountable for her maltreatment.
