Man lures wife to take money from him; strangles her to death

In a horrifying and shameful incident, a man from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur allegedly strangled his wife to death just after having sex with her.

The incident took place on Saturday, at the Hamirpur district of Kanpur. However, it came to light on Sunday.

According to timesnownews.com reports, the man allegedly strangled his wife with her dupatta.

After the woman went missing, her family members approached the police and filed a complaint.

The deceased woman was identified as Kanchan, who was a resident of Hamirpur. While the accused was identified as Amit Lala, who hails from Nasirpur village of Kanpur Dehat.

Kanchan and Lal got married around three years ago and have a two-year-old son.

Woman allegedly tortured for dowry:

As per the Times of India reports, the woman constantly had fights with her husband and in-laws. She was allegedly tortured for dowry as well. Due to the constant harassment, the woman left her husband’s house and started living with her parents. She shifted on January 4.

On February 2, she went missing, following this, a missing complaint was filed at the Kuchecha police out-post.

When police couldn’t trace Kanchan, her parents approached SP Hamirpur Narendra Kumar Singh and raised suspicion of her in-law.

Body found in field:

During the investigation, it was found that the accused lured his wife to come to Hamirpur town to take money from him. He allegedly took her to a field where he first had sex with her and then strangled her with a dupatta. After killing her, Lal threw away the woman’s phone in a river and hid her body in a field.

Meanwhile, a probe has been launched into the case. Amit Lal has also been arrested and also confessed to the crime.

The body of the deceased was recovered from the spot on Sunday and was sent for an autopsy.

The accused has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
