A man from Mumbai has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on the pretext of marriage.
The accused man has been identified as Sunit Waghmare.
The case came to light when a 27-year-old woman registered a case against Waghmare after he refused to marry her. According to the woman, the accused first allegedly raped her at a resort in Lonavla in 2019.
Man forced a woman to sign a live-in relationship agreement:
As per the complaint filed by the woman, the woman first met the accused after he offered her a job. Later, they started chatting over the phone.
The accused man had also offered to marry the woman but she rejected his proposal as Waghmare was already married and had kids. Later, the accused told the woman that he is planning to divorce his wife.
According to the timesnownews.com reports, Waghmare also forced himself upon the victim and also threatened to harm her. He also forced the woman to sign an agreement for a live-in relationship.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that the man raped her repeatedly and also arranged a rented accommodation for her in Mumbai.
According to the police, after signing the agreement, the man later started avoiding the woman by saying that his wife was not ready to divorce him.
"Though there was a live-in relationship agreement the woman was forced to have a physical relationship against her consent," the police officer said.
"On February 27, we arrested Waghmare from his Mumbai home and produced him in court the next day. The court has remanded Waghmare in police custody up to March 5," a report in Hindustan Times quoted investigating S Sangale as saying.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested the man and have been booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
