Mamata Banerjee hits out at BJP, dubs Delhi violence as 'planned genocide'
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has lashed out at the BJP and called the recent violence in the national capital a ‘planned genocide’.
"It was a planned genocide, yet BJP has not apologised for it. And shamelessly they come here and said they want to capture Bengal," she said.
"Let's take a pledge today. Unless we uproot this autocratic govt we shall not stop," she added.
This comes a day after Home Minister Amit Shah paid a visit to West Bengal and blamed the Trinamool Congress supremo of triggering riots in the state. ‘Goli Maaro’ slogans were also raised by some BJP supporters.
Responding to Amit Shah’s allegation, Mamata Banerjee stated, "I know some people who came to BJP rally yesterday raised Goli Maro slogan. It is illegal. And I assure all those who used such language will face the law."
Bengal Chief Minister also questioned why BJP leaders were not apprehended for raising inflammatory slogans. She asked, "I ask, despite so many deaths why has the BJP leader not been arrested despite such grave provocation."
