Maharashtra: Woman kills daughter, herself after husband loses job amid lockdown

In a shocking news that has been reported in Maharashtra's Palghar, where a mother allegedly killed her daughter and then committed suicide, police said.

The sorrowful incident took place due to the financial condition which forced the woman to took this extreme step.

According to the police, the deceased woman identified as Mangla, who belonged to a tribal community and was living in the Jawahar area with her husband Dileep Janu and daughter Roshini.

Dileep was a daily wage worker and due to the coronavirus lockdown, he was out of work for the past three months, ANI reported.

During the investigation, it appears that due to the poor economic conditions since the lockdown, the woman took this step of killing her daughter and then killed herself.

The incident took place on June 24, when the woman hanged her daughter with the help of a saree, on a tree. After hanging her, she did the same with her.

Meanwhile, the police have sent the bodies of the duo for post-mortem. Also, a case has been registered, while further investigations are going on.
