Maharashtra: Two youths paraded naked over suspect of mobile theft in Thane
A shocking incident came to light from Maharashtra where two youths were beaten, stripped and was paraded naked through the APMC market at Kalyan, Thane on Thursday. As per the police the two youth aged 19 and 21 respectively were accused of stealing a mobile and in wake of this, a group of traders committed the heinous act.
As per TOI report, Police rescued the youths after one of the traders informed them about the incident. The youth who were residents of Bhiwadi were seen roaming inside the APMC market at Kalyan on Thursday evening.
As there were recent incidents of cellphone theft in the market area, traders question the youths and when they found that they are not locals they got suspicious and started assaulting them with bamboos and helmets and even paraded them naked.
Police have booked the 9 traders on charges of assault and riots on Friday whereas they are searching for 5 of the absconding accused. The youths have been discharged after being treated for injuries. Apart from this Police are also checking if the two youths have any criminal records.
Senior police inspector Yashwantrao Chavan said, “We have booked the accused and will soon arrest those who are on the run.”
