Woman gang-raped, tortured by her husband and four friends
In a recent development coming in from Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, a woman was allegedly gang raped and tortured by her husband and four of his friends, police said on Sunday. All the five accused have been taken into police custody, they said.
According to the victim, she was brutalised by her husband and others who carried out unnatural sexual intercourse and also burnt her private parts with cigarettes. They also threatened to kill her when she resisted the sexual assault, an official said quoting the FIR, PTI reported.
The alleged horrifying act took place at a farmhouse located under the jurisdiction of Shipra police station area of Indore between November 2019 and October 2021, the official said.
The victim, who is a native of Chhattisgarh, tied the knot with the accused, an Indore-based man after meeting him on a matrimonial site. However, the man was already married, the police sub-inspector said.
The complainant told the cops that she somehow managed to run away from the farmhouse and went to her parent's house in Chhattisgarh. But one of the accused men followed her there with a plan to harming her, the police added.
Five men, which includes the victim's husband, were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and were taken into police custody from different areas of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, he said, adding that further investigation into the matter is in progress.
