Kerala: Teenager killed by his school friends over social media post; two minors booked

It seems like crime has no fear of coronavirus as it has been increasing day-by-day for bizarre reasons. A tragic case has been reported in Kerala where a teenage boy was hacked to death by his classmates.

Police have booked two of the accused who killed the boy.

According to media reports, the incident took place in Kerala’s Koduman region on Sunday, where a teenager was killed by his friends with the help of an axe. After murdering Akhil, the culprits buried his dead body in a rubber plantation in Pathanamthitta.

The deceased has been identified as 16-year-old, Akhil who hailed from Angadikkal. He was a student of class10 at St. George's Mount High School at Kaipattoor in Pathanamthitta.

As per Police investigation, it was found that a dispute Akhil and other was broke out while they were playing a game.

Besides, Police are also suspecting that a debate over social media posts could also be the reason of Akhil’s murder.

Meanwhile, the accused have been charged under sections 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of the offence, or giving false information to screen offender).

Police have taken the accused in its custody, however, an arrest is yet to be registered.

According to the police official, both the accused are minors, hence, they have been kept in an observation centre by the Police. The further probe into the matter is underway.

While the mortal remains of the 16-year-old deceased will be handed over to the family members after autopsy at General Hospital in Adoor.
