Karnataka horror: Jilted lover throws acid on minor girl for rejecting marriage proposal

In a horrifying incident reported from Karnataka’s Ramanagara district, a jilted lover threw acid on a 17-year-old girl on Saturday, after she rejected his marriage proposal. The accused, identified as Sumanth, is a mechanic.

The minor victim, whose left eye was hurt in the incident was immediately taken to a hospital in Karnataka's Bengaluru.

As maintained by sources, a special police team has been set-up to trace and arrest the culprit who has been absconding.

A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The Women and Child Welfare minister is said to be in touch with the victim’s family.
