Jharkhand: 30-year-old woman, her two kids axed to death by unidentified persons
In a horrifying incident reported from Jharkhand's Garhwa district, a 30 year-old woman and her six-year-old sons have been axed to death by unidentified people, police said on Tuesday.
The incident happened in Jaata village which comes under the jurisdiction of Garhwa police station on Monday while the woman was alone with her children in the house, an officer said.
According to the husband of the victim, he and other members of the family had gone to oversee the construction of their new house, which is some distance away, and found the bodies in different rooms of their old house upon their return in the evening.
The dead bodies have been sent for autposy and an investigation has been launched, the officer added.
In another incident reported from Kerala’s Ernakulam, the city police have arrested a man for alleged murder of his 11-year-old daughter over a financial woe. The accused has been identified as Sanu Mohan.
The victim’s dead body was recovered from the Muttar river in Kochi on 22nd March, and that is when the case came to light.
At first, police had suspected that the accused had committed suicide by jumping into the river. but on conducting a search operation it was discovered that he had fled. The investigation guided the police to Karnataka from where the accused was arrested on 18th April.
The accused will be taken to his flat in Pukkattupady and Muttar river where the victim’s body was recovered.
The investigating team will also record statements of his wife.
