Indian Army destroys 4 terror launch pads across PoK, kills 5 Pakistani soldiers
The Indian Army on Sunday launched attack on four terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) killing at least four Pakistani soldiers, in retaliation to the ceasefire violation that killed two soldiers and a civilian in Jammu and Kashmir, according to the Hundustan Times
Pakistan Army post was also shelled in the attack launched by Indian Army that has resulted in more injuries on the enemy’s territory.
An Army source stated that the attack on the terror launch pads were reply to the support given by Pakistan Army to send terrorists into Indian soil. Army has used artillery guns to attack the terror camps.
According to the sources, four terror launch pads were based in Neelam Valley along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. There have been reports of many more injuries, apart from five Pakistan soldiers that were killed in the attack.
This comes a day ahead of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief Bipin Rawat are scheduled to visit Ladakh for inauguration of a strategic bridge near the Line of Actual Control with China along the Leh-Karakoram road.
Army sources stated that the unprovoked breaching of ceasefire by Pakistan in Tangdhar sector, which was an attempt to send the terrorist into Indian soil under covering fire, was reported on the intervening night of 19th and 20th October.
“As a result, calibrated escalation of area weapons was undertaken by the Indian side in which terrorist launch pads, Pakistani Army posts giving incidental protection to these launch pads and certain gun positions were hit,” said sources.
Ceasefire violation by Paksitan in Jammu and Kashmir have increased drastically in the past five years in 2019, as had been reported by IANS earlier.
The total ceasefire violation by Pakistan till October 2019 have surpassed the 2,300 matk. In the whole calendar year of 2018, the total ceasefire violation was recorded at 1,629.
