Hyderabad horror: Man rapes friend after birthday party

In yet another incident of crime against women reported from Telangana’s Hyderabad, a man was taken into police custody for sexually assaulting a 28-year-old woman at her residence.

The accused had invident the victim to a birthday party at a pub in Jubilee Hills. The horrifying incident comes a few weeks following a minor’s gangrape in an SUV in Jubilee Hills.

According to the police, the incident took place after the victim and her friends went back to her house at Pragathi Nagar area after the party. The victim was invited to the pub for a birthday bash on Monday, and she had gone to the venue after finishing work.

At around 11:30 pm, her friends asked her if they could drop her home and she agreed. After reaching home they all went inside and started talking till around 4:30 am on Tuesday. Two of her friends left the house around that same time and the woman fell a sleep.

A police personnel from Bachupally said, “At around 6.15 am, she felt stilted under pressure with a sharp pain in her private parts. She was jolted from sleep and saw a friend, who left some time ago, forcing himself upon her. Regardless of resisting, the accused raped her.”

Following the sexual assault, the victim started calling her colleagues for help from the washroom. Upon realising this, the accused quickly ran away, said the police.

On the basis of the complaint filed by the woman victim on Wednesday, Bachupally police registered a case against her friend under Sections 376 and 506 of the IPC and arrested him.
