Home Minister, NSA review security situation in Kashmir
Home Minister Rajnath Singh, along with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba reviewed the security situation in the Kashmir valley.
Rajnath is on a two-day visit here.
This was the Home Minister's first visit to the valley after the imposition of Governor's rule post the Bharatiya Janata Party-People's Democratic Party coalition government fallout in the state.
The Home Minister said that on his two-day visit to the valley he reviewed the security situation and discussed the same with Governor NN Vohra.
Singh further said that the Government is committed to take all possible measures to bring good governance in the state, as "development and good governance had remained elusive for the common people of Jammu and Kashmir."
"With renewed focus on good governance and development the Centre is looking forward to kindle new aspirations and hopes amongst the people of the State," the Home Minister added.
Rajnath Singh said that the Government aims to empower the people of Kashmir and strengthen the institution of local self-governance in the state.
He said, "The dream of a developed and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir will be realised when there is peace and normalcy in the state. It is our firm resolve to bring peace, stability and prosperity through an honest, effective and efficient administration for the problems facing the state."
