Haryana: 13-year-old girl found pregnant after being drugged, raped

Police have taken a couple and a women into their custody in the matter of the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in Haryana’s Yamunanagar who was found to be expecting a baby. The minor girl was allegedly drugged and raped by various individuals.

According to a PTI report, the accused couple and the woman who is the main accused in the case were taken into police custody from Yamunanagar after the girl narrated her ordeal to the police.

The prime accused lived in the girl's neighbourhood and was hooked on drugs. The police have stated that she earned money by taking the girl to a rented accommodation provided by the accused couple. The teenager was allegedly drugged and raped by various people in the rented apartment.

After the victim was counselled, she told the police that the prime accused used to take her to the rented apartment when her parents were not around.

The incident became known a few days earlier when the girl complained of stomach pain and was taken to a hospital where she was found to be six months pregnant. Police were called when the girl told about how she was sexually exploited.

Police are investigating the matter and trying to find out whether the accused persons could have used more such children subjecting them to sexual exploitation.
