Gurugram: 30-year-old man strangled to death by two men after he forced them to sell alcohol during lockdown

A 30-year-old man was allegedly throttled to death by two men in Gurugram’s Bilaspur area after he forced them to sell liquor during the Covid-19 lockdown. The two accused were taken into custody on Saturday by the police.

The accused were identified as Hemant and Sandip. Both of them are resident of Nurpur village in Bilaspur. The victim was identified as Subhash Singh, he also belonged to the same village as the accused.

On Friday, Hemant, Sandip and Subhash were drinking at a funeral home. During this time, Subhash asked Hemant and Sandip to sell liquor during the lockdown. Hemant and Sandip declined to do so and the three men began squabbling.

When the argument got through the roof, Hemant and Sandip lost their temper and attacked Subhash. They allegedly throttled the victim with a towel and he died on the spot.

Victim’s family started growing worried when he did no come back home on Friday. At approximately 9:30 am, a villager told victim’s older brother that he had been murdered. The villeger told Subhash’s brother that two men had killed him, the Hindustan Times reported. After knowing about the incident, Subhash’s brother recovered his dead body from the funeral home and went to the police.

As maintained by victim’s brother, the two accused punched him and kicked him before killinh him. Subhash Boken, spokesperson, city police stated that the two accused have been booked under section 302, section 34 of the IPC.
