Gujarat: Two arrested for throwing acid at relative, her minor kids

The Rajkot police took two men into custody for throwing acid at a women and her two minor kids aged 5 and 8 in Ahmedabad’s Madhavpur area.

Their location was traced to Rajkot’s Chotila, from where they were taken into police custody after the police tracked down their mobile location, according to a report by Ahmedabad Mirror.

The two men, identified as Ajay Dantani (25) and Vijay Dantani (20) who wanted their relative Laxmi Dantani to vacate the house their father had sold to her.

The accused on Saturday threw acid at Laxmi and her kids, all of whom suffered injuries and burns. They successfully ran away from the crime scene after the attack.

"The two travelled in a truck to Chotila and called their sister from hotels where they made stops. A Madhavpura police team accompanied by their sister travelled to Chotila and nabbed them", police said.

In another horrific incident reported from Bihar, a man, who is an alcoholic and a habitual gambler, allegedly put his wife on bet and lost her to his friends, after which the latter sexually assaulted her. The incident happened in Bhagalpur district.

According to the police, a case was filed, and the husband was arrested.
