Govt school principal rapes girl from seventh standard
In an extremely shocking incident of crime against women reported from Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district, a 31-year-old principal of a government run school has been taken into police custody for allegedly raping a girl from seventh standard on 5th October.
The horrifying episode took place when the accused, identified as Kesha Yadav allegedly called the minor victim to school early on the pretext of studies, and sexually assaulted her inside the school compound. Following this, the girl told her cousin and mother about the incident.
The incident was also reported to the child helpline number on 13th October, after which members of the Child Welfare Committee visited the victim's village the next day. They counselled her and nabbed the accused.
Not long ago, the accused principal had reportedly misbehaved with the girl, sent her lewd messages and even tried to sexually harass her, as maintained by Bhajana Ram, station house officer, Singhana police station.
The minor victim in her statement said, that she had tried to report the harassment to two teachers of the school. However, they threatened her not to report it, and deleted all the messages from her phone.
This is reportedly a second such incident of harassment against a female student in a government school in less than a week. A few days prior to this incident a teacher in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara was caught sexually assaulting a student.
