Five, including minor, rape 16-year-old girl, one arrested

Amid the outcry over a gang-rape of a Mysuru’s college girl, a horrifying incident has surfaced from Rajasthan’s Nagaur district, a 16-year-old was allegedly raped by five people, including a minor.

On Sunday, the victim’s father registered an FIR at Jayal police station in Nagaur. The cops then took a 20-year-old man into their custody and detained the accused minor on Monday.

“The girl was called by her neighbour Hariprasad at his home for some work on Thursday where four other accused were already present. They raped the girl and threatened her with dire consequences if she dared to reveal the incident to anyone,” circle officer Rameshwar Lal was quoted in a PTI report.

Following the incident, the teenage girl began suffering from depression and her way of acting changed. On discovering that something was amiss, her family members forced her to tell them about her trouble.

The girl eventually narrated her ordeal to them. That is when the girl's father registered the FIR with the cops.

The three accused in the crime are still at large. The police have launched a search operation in order to trace and arrest them, an official said.
