Delhi: Woman demands justice for Unnao victim, pours petrol on daughter; held
A woman arrested after she allegedly poured petrol on her minor daughter on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place when she was protesting outside Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi demanding justice for Unnao rape victim, who succumbed to burn injuries on Friday night.
The six-year-old girl was rescued by police and then, taken to the hospital emergency ward. While the woman who threw inflammable liquid on her daughter has been taken to police custody.
As per the reports, this shocking incident took place nearly an hour after the Unnao gangrape and murder victim’s body was taken to her village in Uttar Pradesh after a post-mortem.
The Unnao rape victim was seat ablaze by five miscreants when she was going to Rae Bareli to attend a court hearing in the rape case filed by her.
For treatment, she was airlifted to Delhi and admitted to the hospital at Safdarjung.
According to the doctors, the rape victim was 90 percent burnt. She died on Friday night after battling for her life for almost 40 hours.
During her last moments, the girl demanded justice and also asked whether she would remain alive or not?
Meanwhile, police have arrested all accused involved in the case. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “The case will be taken to a fast-track court, and punishment will be given.”
