Delhi weather today: Cold day conditions to prevail in national Capital
Cold wave continues in most parts of North India, including national capital Delhi, resulting in severe cold the region. This means that mercury may fall to 7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday in the national capital.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the temperature may fall to 7 degree Celsius today and There may be more cold in the coming days.
" Due to favorable meteorological conditions, dense fog in isolated pockets very likely over Punjab, Bihar, and south Assam and Meghalaya and Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura in the morning hours during next 24 hours," IMD bulletin said.
"Cold day conditions continue to prevail in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan today and abate from tomorrow'" IMD said.
This apart, the weather agency has also forecast rain and snowfall alert for Western Himalayan Region
"A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from December 18, night onwards which is likely to cause isolated to scattered rain/snow over the same region. This Western Disturbance is not likely to cause any significant weather over the plains of northwest India, " said the IMD bulletin.
On Monday, the maximum tempreture in Delhi was recorded 12.9 degree Celsius, when the minimum temperature in Delhi dropped to 10.2 degree Celsius.
Worth mentioning, Delhi had previously seen so much cold on December 25, 2003. In many places in the city, fog reduced visibility. Meteorological Department officials said the visibility in Palam was 300 meters.
