‘Delhi Police, Go Back’: JNU students raised slogans against cops [WATCH]

Hours after a masked mob, armed with sticks and stones attacked on JNU’s students and teachers, Delhi Police conducted a flag march late at night inside Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus so that no further violence could erupt inside the varsity. Angry JNU students raised slogans against the Delhi police and asked them to leave the campus.

The footage of the incident showed that students were seen surrounding the police personnel and raising slogans, “Delhi Police, go back”

As per reports, students and faculty members of JNU allege that Delhi police and private security guards on the campus watch the incident silently. They also accused of letting the masked mob attack them.

In the attack, at least 28 people, including JNU Students' Union president Aishe Ghosh, were injured as chaos reigned on the campus for nearly two hours. Three people are in the ICU.

Meanwhile, the Left-controlled JNUSU and the RSS-backed ABVP blamed each other for this brutal mob attack.

Also, the delegation comprising students and teachers from JNU, Delhi and Jamia University have gathered to report the case to the Delhi Police PRO with four demands, including urgent medical aid to injured students and the arrest of the accused involved in the incident.

"The police have assured us that they will look into the matter and our demands," president Federation of Central University Teachers' associations Rajib Ray said.

Also, Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Delhi police chief Amulya Patnaik and the ministry to report about the violent attack inside the JNU campus.

Meanwhile, security force has been deployed outside JNU hostels, administration block and other important locations. Entry of outsiders including media was restricted, the sources said.
