Delhi NCR horror: 12-year-old boy rapes, impregnates elder sister

A minor boy, aged 12, allegedly raped and impregnated his elder sister. The family of the teenager came to know about the 16-year-old girl’s pregnancy when her mother’s worker noticed a bump and asked her. On being questioned about her health, the victim told that she was raped two times by her brother. The incident took place in Greater Noida.

Both the brother and sister lives with their parents and three other siblings at a rented house. Their father is a construction labour while the mother works as a domestic help at a residential society.

According to the victim, she was sexually harassed by her brother round two to three month ago. Reportedly, the brother and sister didn’t know about the implications of the crime.

After coming to know about the girl's situation, her mother's employer called Childline and the cops began a probe into the case. Investigation revealed that the parents also didn’t realise the severity of the state of affairs, The Times of India reported.

As maintained by a cop, the girl had told her mother about the alleged rape but the latter had paid no attention to her. The official added, "The family thought the girl had an infection and didn’t realise she was pregnant. "

Usha Kushwaha, the investigating officer of the case stated that the victim is the second among her five siblings and the accused is the third. Both of them, who are students, had been staying at home because of the lockdown.

After the investigation was carried out, the 12-year-old boy was taken before the child welfare committee and was sent to a juvenile detention centre in Phase 2 on Tuesday. He was charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
