Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain doing better, could be shifted to general ward
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, who was being treated for coronavirus in an ICU of a private hospital, is getting better and could be shifted to the eneral ward by tomorrow, hospital sources said on Sunday.
Satyendar Jain’s fever has subsided and oxygen level has improved since he was admistered plasma therapy, a medical procedure under which critical coronavirus patients are treated using plasma of those who have recovered fron the infection.
The 55-year-old is under observation in the intensive care unit of Max Hospital in Saket, hospital sources said.
The health minister was moved to Max Hospital from Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital on Friday after his condition deteriorated.
Satyendar Jain was admitted to Delhi’s Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital on Monday night after he was found to be suffering from a high fever and had low oxygen saturation.
Satyendar Jain, who had initially tested negative for coronavirus, was on oxygen support at the hospital intermittently.
The minister, who has no comorbidities, was found to be suffering from pneumonia, a known coronavirus complication, and also complained of breathlessness and giddiness from Friday.
He was moved to the Max Hospital and kept on oxygen support. A CT scan showed that the pneumonic patch in his lungs.
