Delhi crimes: Class 12 student strangled to death by friend for not sharing phone password
In an appalling incident reported from the national capital’s Pitampura area, A class 12 student was allegedly strangulated to death by his 20-year-old friend after he refused to give his iPhone's password, police said on Wednesday.
The incident happened on 21st April at a park. The accused, identified as Mayank Singh, a BBA student of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies in Rohini, was taken into police custody on Monday from Uttar Pradesh’s Pilkhuwa, police said.
The father of the victim, who runs a factory, registered a missing complaint of his son when he did not come back home. The victim left his home on 21st April morning, police said.
Earlier on Sunday, police was notified about a decomposed body lying at an isolated area inside a park at Pitampura. A large-sized teddy bear was also lying next to the daed body, a senior police officer said, further adding that the police also recovered drugs from the crime spot.
In the time of the investigation, police looked into more than 100 CCTV footage near the crime spot and saw the accused and the deceased victim entering the park. Singh was missing from his house since 23rd April, the investigating officer said.
