Coronavirus: Wockhardt Hospital in Mumbai shuts after 26 nurses, 3 doctors test positive

The Wockhardt Hospital in Mumbai, one of the coronavirus hotspot in the country has been shut and declared a containment zone after as many as 26 nurses and three doctors tested positive for Sars-CoV-2 in a span of one week.

An investigation has also been ordered to probe the unexampled increase in the number of cases and swift spread of coronavirus at the hospital, said officials.

The administration has barred the entry and exit to the hospital till all the patients admitted at the hospital test negative twice.

An aggressive containment strategy was put out by the Health Ministry on Sunday in a bid to curb any further spread of Covid-19, which includes buffer zones and sealing off areas. The plan is designed to contain the disease caused by the Sars-CoV-2.

The 20 page document reads the aggressive containment plan will be gradually reduced only if no new cases of coronavirus are reported for not less than four weeks after the last confirmed test.
