Coronavirus: Nine fresh cases of Covid-19 in Kerala, Karnataka; total cases rise to 56
The total number of people infected with the novel coronavirus in India reached 56 today as the state of Kerala and Karnataka reported fresh cases. More or less 4,000 people have lost their lives because of the virus across the world, but there has been no deaths in India thus far.
Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan stated that six fresh infections had taken the state total to 12 on Tuesday. Three others who were tested positive earlier have been treated and discharged.
In Karnataka, the number of infections went up from one to four, State Health Minister B Sriramulu said.
His Tamil Nadu counterpart, C Vijayabhaskar, stated that eight people had been tested negative – they included seven ‘close contacts’ of a 45-year-old coronavirus patient.
In the meantime, the Indian Air Force brought back 58 Indians from Iran, where authorities are currently battling battling one of the worst outbreaks after China.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that the government was working on bringing back ore Indians form coronavirus hit Iran.
