The number of comfirmed Covid-19 cases in India mounted to 909 on Saturday, as per the Health Ministry. Out of which, 47 are foreigners.
the total number of active cases in the country soared to 819, while 80 patients have been recovered and discharged.
The number of lives the infection claimed so far is 19.
while the state of Maharashtra with 180 cases has the most number of Covid-19 patient, Kerala stands seond in the list with 176 cases, as of 5:34 pm as per the Ministry. The number of coronavirus cases worldwide topped 600,000 on Saturday.
Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that a 21 day lockdown in the entire nation to deal with the outbreak of coronavirus, saying that "social distancing" is the only option to fight the disease.
"Doctors across country being trained on management of Covid-19 patients with the help of AIIMS, Delhi," said a Health Ministry official
"Rigorous contact-tracing underway; focus is on setting dedicated Covid-19 hospitals," said the official.
